Welcome to the USS Nimitz!

The 12 years following the close of the Dominion War were among some of the most peaceful and prosperous years the Alpha Quadrant had seen in centuries. Slowly, industry had begun to thrive again and trade routes renewed the hope of normalcy returning to life. At the forefront of the recovery, the Federation dedicated itself to a new era of peace and exploration and returning to its core principles.

The hope of a lasting age of peace came crashing down at the close of 2387 with the tragic destruction of Romulus at the hand of a deadly supernova. The disaster sent ripples of fear and uncertainty through the quadrant. Now, the peace and prosperity of the last decade are threatened by factions rising from the ashes of the Romulan Empire, familiar foes rearing their ugly heads and new enemies creeping from the shadows. With dangerous and uncertain times on the horizon, the Alpha Quadrant needs a beacon of hope more than ever.

The crew of the USS Nimitz, armed with the most advanced ship Starfleet has ever built, have been charged with safeguarding the future of the Alpha Quadrant and carrying forward the mission of the Federation: to seek out new life and new civilizations and bold go where no one has gone before...

If there are questions, please let me know. If not, let's see those posting fiends start doing what they do best!

» He's Baaack...

Posted on Sun Oct 16th, 2011 @ 1:07am by Major Porter Wallace in Out of Character

Hello all!

After many years (...apparently I'm getting old...) the murderous, ill-tempered, berzerk Marine Porter Wallace is returning to the simm in a whole new role. As your loving, caring Chief Counselor. He's here for your mental health, and he will take no prisoners...

I look forward to writing with you all!

David (the other one/new one/old one depending on your point of view)

» Changing Things Up

Posted on Sat Oct 1st, 2011 @ 10:15am by Captain Alex Diaz in Simm Announcement

Yes, you read that post correct.

A few weeks ago, Del and Nikki came to me with an idea to change things up a little bit ... or a lot. In order to properly, accurately and realistically tell Sirta's sub-story, we had to make some changes. Effective immediately, Del is moving back to Chief Operations Officer and Nikki is moving in to the role of XO with a new character.

We'll be taking a little bit more time to get Nikki's new character into the flow (and let people continue to work their own little stories during shore leave) before starting the new mission. I want to thank Del for the time he spent as the XO and all of those late night conversations about all things RL and IC and I'm looking forward to the same with Nikki now too!

Any questions, let me know.

David

You all may have seen or realized from my recent post that I'm back again. Looking for anyone that wants to do a joint post or has an idea for something that I could be doing constructively. Just let me know and I'll try and stay on top of it as much as I can.

Mission: Day of Infamy
Posted on Thu May 17th, 2012 @ 10:53pm by Lieutenant Commander Daniël de Vos & Petty Officer 3rd Class Li Celes

A low, constant murmur filled the Observation Lounge as Daniël tiredly rubbed his eyes. Around him crew members bustled about coordinating the relief efforts between the many ships up here in orbit and with the ground. In addition, the diplomats were inquiring - and being inquired - about the…

Mission: Day of Infamy
Posted on Mon May 14th, 2012 @ 10:33pm by Major Porter Wallace

Narie’s star threatened the horizon with an orange glow. Fires from wrecked buildings, however, still littered the pre-dawn haze with an eerie flickering light viciously cutting away the charm a dawn would normally bring. The whole scene reminded Byzas Valeo (NPC) of some hellish nightmare. It almost seemed too amazing…

Mission: Day of Infamy
Posted on Sun May 13th, 2012 @ 12:43pm by Lieutenant Commander Boris Kerlin & Major Porter Wallace

"Shh." Nadae (NPC) held her finger up to her lips again. She, Byzas Valeo (NPC), and Jiran (NPC), stood quietly in the rubble covered chamber listening. All three of them glistened with sweat and dust covered them so completely that they looked like three clay Romulans.

"I heard it that…

Mission: Day of Infamy
Posted on Mon May 7th, 2012 @ 5:04pm by Lieutenant Commander Chance Berdas & Ensign Jarquel Sen-Artanis

ON

The surge of patients had passed, and medical staff had treated the most life threatening or potentially life threatening conditions. Now they had a chance to review medical files in more depth. The Nimitz, as an experimental test-bed, had recently been outfitted with a large-scale dermal regenerator. While the…

Mission: Day of Infamy
Posted on Sun May 6th, 2012 @ 10:54pm by Major Porter Wallace

The sun drooped toward the horizon. It seemed weary of the days work and just wanted to rest. Lights set around the rescue area began to flicker to life to carry on the work that the sun wanted to abandon. Wallace sat on a low wall, his arms resting on…

Everyone is talking about the Remans like they're some sort of demons. I guess they kind of look like the atravadeen spooks in one of those holonovels I had when I was kid, but I'm sure those weren't based on the Remans. Were they? No, probably not. More than anything,…

» Where I've Come From

Posted on Sat Oct 22nd, 2011 @ 12:33am by Petty Officer 3rd Class Ibis Xeri

I suppose I misunderstood the counselor at the Academy when she said I might expect to see Major Wallace again soon. Maybe my own hopeful mind invented the idea. All the same, just knowing he is out there somewhere-- alive! Maybe it's best I couldn't find him. There's no telling…

"Lieutenant Kennerett's Person Log, recording." the computer intoned.

"I have arrived at Starbase 414 and am waiting for my new orders to come through. I have to admit, it's kind of strange. I don't know how it normally works as I've not been around that long, but I have never…

Holding a tablet pad on his lap, the quiet sound of the small shuttle was soothing. Not even the two pilots up front were randomly conversing. Looking down at the pad, Jonathan tapped the console next to him and the rear compartment closed off from the "cockpit" area.

"Computer, begin…

Well, we're back. What was supposed to be a routine, well, as routine as any mission can be in the current crisis situation, a routine mission turned out to be a rescue mission, with an added possible 'first-contact'.

First the positives. We've saved the whole crew of the So'jar.…
