Remans

Everyone is talking about the Remans like they're some sort of demons. I guess they kind of look like the atravadeen spooks in one of those holonovels I had when I was kid, but I'm sure those weren't based on the Remans. Were they? No, probably not. More than anything, people just seem scared of them. When we got the news in the science staff meeting, people look mortified! I thought I was missing something. They're just Remans in one ship, right? What can one ship do?

Everyone in the Federation gets scared easily nowadays. We are afraid. I remember before the war, things weren't like that. I guess people have lost their friends and family to terrible things, and the Federation has been changing. But why the worry about the Remans? I, for one, cannot wait to meet them! I bet some of them will be friendly, and maybe they'll even want to exchange recipes with me. Everyone likes food, even the Remans!

In the mess hall, some of the crew were saying they're dangerous. They're unpredictable. They've done terrible things. Even if that's true, I don't think we should keep them out. They have suffered a lot, too, and I think they have a right to be here. They have things to say. They probably want answers as much as anyone, and if we shut them out then it's going to make them even angrier. I bet we wouldn't like them when they're angry.
