Mission:
No Room for Enemies
Location: SS Ner’hone / Narie
SS Ner’hone
ON:
Samantha was enjoying the transport ride over to her new assignment. Her new starship post will definitely be a change of pace from the frontier post she was coming from. But it was a change she greatly needed. She had to put the past in the past and put her best foot forward and move on.
The transport approached the planet Narie. Starfleet couldn’t spare a shuttle or starship to pick her up so Starfleet flew her commercial to her destination. She had arrived before her belongings and for good reason. There was some mix up with her orders. The thing was she doesn’t know where she will be calling home as she was assigned to three different vessels at the same time. All she was told was that her next assignment would be one of the ships attending a summit at the planet Narie. Sam was going have an interesting time trying to explain the purpose of her visit to Narie security personnel at the spaceport.
The transport landed without incident and all got off in short order. Sam was last to exit. She put on her back pack and took a deep breath before exiting the transport. Anxiety washed over her as she prepared herself for new surroundings. Once she stepped off she was met with much commotion and much movement around her. A bustling spaceport lay before her as she just looked on in awe. After a few moments she caught herself with her mouth open. Looking around for a moment and then headed for passenger control, her exit.
With orders in hand she made her way towards the exit. She kept her head up and her focus centered in order to give all those around her the false sense of confidence. When she got to the front of the line the person in charge asked her the question she was dreading but expecting, “What is the purpose of your visit?”
Moments before she had practiced what she was going to say, ‘I am just passing through on my way to my next assignment. The only way to get here was by way of civilian transport.’ But instead anxiety settled back in and Sam started to rambled on and by the end of it she had told her entire life story to a complete stranger. The man she was going on and on towards just blinked once and asked for her orders. She presented what she had for orders, as she was told the orders on the padd would be able to get her through security. The man typed in a few commands into the console in front of him and then scanned her padd.
He then looked up at her, “There seems to be a problem with your orders.” She wanted to cry but held it together. She already embarrassed herself once in front of the guy and now it was happening again. Sam didn’t say a word. A different person showed up and asked her to follow him to an office. He told her that they would have to confirm with Starfleet about her orders. ‘What a way to start the next chapter of your life Sam.’ she thought to herself as she settled into a chair in an office somewhere in the spaceport.
